KAL hosts exclusive self-service banking event in Sri Lanka

(June 2018, Colombo, Sri Lanka) KAL welcomed more than 60 key representatives of Sri-Lankan state and private sector banks, finance companies, partners and other stakeholders to an exclusive all-day event in Colombo.

The self-service banking conference provided the opportunity for industry leaders to network, share best practices, learn about global and regional ATM software trends and their potential impact on the future of banking in Sri Lanka.

KAL experts were on hand to share insight on the latest industry challenges and opportunities, with topics ranging from migration to Windows 10 and cash recycling to ATM security requirements and open banking.

KAL shared its expertise on transforming bank services and the role of the ATM in delivering transactions in the digital age. Delegates had the opportunity to learn from KAL case studies and hear about its world-leading ATM software suite.  In addition, attendees were shown a demonstration of KAL’s Retail Teller Machine (RTM), a self-service kiosk that provides all of the transaction services of an ATM – with operational costs that are just a fraction of an ATM.

Leading regional media including Sri Lankan television channel Adaderana 24x7 and The Sunday Times newspaper covered the day with KAL’s CEO, Aravinda Korala, providing exclusive interviews.

Aravinda explained how the RTM can play a key role in ensuring financial inclusion in the banking system for remote areas of Sri Lanka, potentially providing villagers with access to a full range of banking services at a very low cost. He said: “We believe the RTM is one of the most important products ever to be introduced to the self-service banking industry.”
