Malaysian government 'goes cashless' with the KAL RTM

The KAL RTM is now being used in Malaysian government offices to pay bills and taxes.

The move follows a drive by the government to make its local offices and agencies cashless in order to cut costs and offer the public a more convenient way of paying bills.

Hong Leong Islamic Bank answered this need with KAL’s RTM – which they refer to as ‘the cashless ATM’. The RTM is now installed in several local government offices, where visitors can use it to make balance inquiries and pay local taxes and council fines, such as parking tickets. It can also be used to make charitable payments including religious donations.

Hong Leong Islamic Bank is currently working with other city councils and government agencies in a bid to extend the cashless ATM service.
