Microsoft ends XP support

With Microsoft ending support for Windows XP as of tomorrow, many of the world's 2.6 million ATMs will be left without software support and facing serious compliance issues.

Meanwhile, KAL CEO, Aravinda Korala, has also written an article detailing exactly what tomorrow's deadline means for banks. A recognised thought leader on the issue, Mr Korala not only looks at the immediate threats, but assesses why ATM manufacturers and banks have not acted sooner and precisely what failing to act now could mean in the future.

You can access the article here.

Mr Korala has presented regularly on the migration of complex ATM networks to Windows 7&8 and recently closed the ATMIA Africa Conference with his presentation, "The Roadmap for the Global Migration of the ATM Industry to Windows 7&8 from XP OS".
