CCB expands deployment of Kalignite multivendor ATM software

February, 2006 - Press Release

Edinburgh, United Kingdom - China Construction Bank (CCB) has now deployed the Kalignite Platform multivendor software to over 6000* Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in its China-wide network.

KAL's development partner in China, Shenzen Zijin, is the supplier of the ATM application which is built on the Kalignite Platform. The Kalignite Platform has enabled CCB to deploy Zijin's application across its diverse ATM estate.

Basing Zijin's application on the Kalignite Platform significantly reduced the cost of application development, lowered maintenance costs and improved the speed of deployment of software enhancements across the ATM network.

The decision to base the ATM software on the Kalignite Platform was finalized early in 2004 and within a few months it was being deployed. The Kalignite-based software is now running on ATMs manufactured by NCR, Diebold, Wincor and Hitachi. The Hitachi ATMs are cash recycling ATMs with full support for recycling functionality from Zijin's multivendor software application.

"There is now wide acceptance in China for multivendor ATM software" said Aravinda Korala, CEO of KAL. "With their Kalignite software solution, CCB can choose any model and type of ATM that best suits each deployment, independent of hardware vendor. KAL's Kalignite Platform is unique in that it provides CCB complete freedom to select ATMs from over 25 different manufacturers."

CCB is the largest bank in China (source: "The Banker", July 2004), with an extensive network of more than 20,000 branches and over 300,000 employees.
